MatLust is located at Södertälje Science Park and is an EU funded project that continues until 2021. The vision is to establish a permanent regional knowledge center and a creative meeting place for food and sustainability in Södertälje – with partners from industry, academia, the public sector and civil society. MatLust is run by the Södertälje municipality through Destination Södertälje with, among others, the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) as a partner.
The objective is to develop a sustainable and profitable food industry in the Stockholm region. MatLust offers development programs, testbeds, networks and other forms of support to small and medium-sized food businesses that want to grow and work actively with sustainability. Thanks to broadly anchored political decisions, Södertälje can use the public meal sector as leverage in environmental and health work, and for food development.
MatLust has the entire food chain from farm to fork as a perspective. MatLust is an arena that connects business, the public sector and academia to work jointly in the creation of partnerships and new enterprises. It offers companies and other players a neutral arena that promotes meetings, and can lead to new business and innovations.
